In India some people think that if they are blessed with son then they are lucky ,otherwise they have to suffer if a girl child is borned ,what is the reason behind this ? The killing of women exists in various forms in societies the world over. However, Indian society displays some unique and particularly brutal versions, such as dowry deaths and sati. Female foeticide is an extreme manifestation of violence against women. Female foetuses are selectively aborted after pre-natal sex determination, thus avoiding the birth of girls. As a result of selective abortion, between 35 and 40 million girls and women are missing from the Indian population. In some parts of the country, the sex ratio of girls to boys has dropped to less than 800:1,000.
The birth of a son is regarded as essential and many prayers and lavish offerings are made in temples in the hope of having a male child. Modern medical technology is used in the service of this religion-driven devaluing of women and girls.If we see ,we will find so many examples of brave ladies of our countries,Rani Jhansi,Indira Gandhi, kiran bedi sonia Gandhi etc these were also girls , ladies who has raised the name of our nation has proved that the girls should not be ignored from good education, good supervision regarding health ,If the girl is well educated ,she will be adujust her self in the society ,she will not be burden on any one .male and female child should be given the same love affection and equal rights in the family.
